FAQs

When do you walk dogs?

Dogs can be walked early morning, mid-morning, lunchtime, mid-afternoon and late afternoon. Times are approximate due to the varied times it takes to pick up and drop off dogs from their homes. Very approximate start times for these are 8am, 10am, 12pm, 2pm & 4pm.

Which area do you cover?

Currently, I cover Beckenham and close surrounding areas. Please get in contact to see if I can cover your area.

How many dogs do you walk at the same time?

Normally I would walk up to a maximum of 4 dogs.

Are you insured?

Yes, I'm currently insured by Protectivity Insurance - my policy is provided to clients during our initial meet and greet.

Do you take on all size of dogs?

Unfortunately not - dog handlers need to be physically capable of holding each dog back on a lead for any number of incidents that could occur, even if the dog is usually easily controlled. Therefore, if the dog is particularly strong or heavy I may not be able to cater for this.

What happens if my dog doesn't get on with other dogs?

If 2 of the dogs are really not getting along, I may need to put them on different time schedules so they better enjoy their walks. Before that happens I'll do what I can to resolve their disputes.

Do you board dogs?

At this time, unfortunately, I cannot offer this service.  Since October 2018, it is now illegal to board or care for dogs in your home unless you have a licence. Because of the stringent rules I cannot offer this service at this time.

During your holidays, I am happy to take your dogs for walks in the daytime if you find a boarder that is able to look after your dog at night - a friend, relative or professional boarder.

If you look after my keys how do I know they'll be safe?

I and any future dog carers that work for Lady Rambles will have gone through a Disclosure and Barring Service check (DBS formerly CRB) and have been fully vetted prior to starting any training. Spare keys that aren't in constant use are locked away securely for emergencies. Key tags never identify the property to which they belong. I have Lost Key Cover through my insurer.

Do you hire other dog walkers?

I am currently a single walker, but if there becomes a high demand for my dog walking services in the area, I may look to taking on other walkers.

When can my puppy join on group walks?

As long as they're fit and healthy and have had their vaccinations, usually around 6 months.

Do you keep the dogs on a lead?

Provided they have good recall to their dog walker, once I'm away from the car park or roads I like the dogs to have freedom to run and burn off energy, so will take them off the lead.

Do I need to sign a service agreement?

Yes. This is to show that when you book services you agree we can enter your home, walk your dog or care for them, and that you agree to our policies and procedures.
